Content: The Hanger Project - Splash - Clothing has always been deeply rooted within various cultures emphasizing different things such a social hierarchy, change or the representation of customs. Your wardrobe often describes who you are before you even have the opportunity to introduce yourself.Â Unfortunately not everyone has the luxury of having access to proper clothing. The severity of thisÂ problem that many underprivileged people face,Â specifically children and young adults, is immense.Â How can a young man from a homeless shelter get a job if he canâ€™t afford a suit to even make it thru the interview stage?The answers to a lot of these type of questions are, they canâ€™t. So we decided to do something about it. Leveraging our cultures emphasis on social media and its ability to garner widespread attention to a positive cause, we as millenials wantÂ to create an initiative to begin to help this demographic of young people in need.Partnering with Henry Spencer of Golden Hanger Designs, we are producing a clothing drive.We are calling together our combined networks to participate in an outreach program aimed at gathering those essential pieces of clothing necessary for the preparation of professional success. While we are encouraging supporters to donate whatever items they may have, we are emphasizing those specific items conducive to a proactive career journey.Â - Saturday, August 22, 2015
